Irodori Zuiun bamboo plate (3 colors)

Whereas conventional hon-urushi lacquer is basically opaque and has subdued tones, research into lacquer refining methods has resulted in a new hon-urushi lacquer with high transparency and vivid colors.
By applying the new lacquer on top of the foil, a colorful shimmering effect never seen before is produced.
Available in 3 colors: red, green, and yellow.

Each piece is carefully created by repeating many steps, including cutting and shaving the bamboo.
The light feel that is unique to bamboo is also attractive.
