Cherry blossoms in spring and autumn leaves in fall have long been familiar to Japanese people, and the combination of the two is known as the "Unkin" pattern, a design that can be used in any season.
The inside is lacquered in simple black.

A natsume is a small container used to store matcha powder for Japanese tea ceremonies. 
The name comes from the resemblance of the shape to the jujube berry (called "Natsume" in Japanese).
