Contrast between matte black and silver
When the jet-black lid is opened, a bamboo reminiscent of an ink painting in shades of black and silver appears, creating a fantastic atmosphere.
The bamboo branches swaying in the wind, and the sound of leaves rubbing against each other can be heard...a scene of “聴風(Hearing the Wind)” is expressed.
The outside is a calm, matte black.
The inside is expressed by silver powder, charcoal powder and lacquer, a technique called “Gin-togikiri maki-e”, which Zohiko has not used for about 100 years.
A natsume is a small container used to store matcha powder for Japanese tea ceremonies.
The name comes from the resemblance of the shape to the jujube berry (called "Natsume" in Japanese).
