A “misu” is a bamboo blind with a cloth border.
During the Heian period, men and women of the nobility who had reached adulthood were separated by a bamboo screen, so that even family members could not see each other directly.
The joy of being recognized as an adult and the loneliness of not being able to see each other easily.
This is a lyrical motif that expresses the thought of the person you cannot see.
The furnishings and utensils used by the aristocrats of the Heian period convey a sense of elegance.

This small (15 cm) decorative plate is also attractive for the sparkling mother-of-pearl  on the chrysanthemum.
