＊What is Negoro-nuri?
Negoro-nuri is a technique of applying red lacquer over black lacquer.
As the red lacquer wears off over time, the black lacquer underneath rises to the surface, creating an atmospheric abstract pattern.
It is said that this technique was first used by priests at Negoro-ji Temple in Wakayama Prefecture to produce lacquerware for use in the temple.
